About the programme

This 1 term (60 credits) or 2 term (90 credits) programme* is the first step to gaining your Master’s degree in the UK. It is designed to prepare you for your studies by allowing you to practice your academic skills in a supportive environment. Though you may have experience of studying at undergraduate level in another country, the expectations of postgraduate study can be very different in the UK.

You will be taught in interactive classes and university-style research sessions, by the time you finish this programme, you will have the fundamental skills you need to attain your Master’s degree, including:

  • business language
  • academic writing
  • critical thinking
  • academic research
  • presentation skills
  • poster presentations

Our supportive teachers will work with you to help you to reach your full potential. During your studies, you will learn by attending a range of dynamic lessons which are designed to build your confidence including discussions, presentations, lectures, small group tutorials and personal tutor sessions.

Teaching for the Pre-master’s Programme is delivered by Malvern HE Partnerships on behalf of London Metropolitan University.

Programme duration:

Minimum English language level:

Academic IELTS 5.5 overall (with no component below 5.5) or equivalent.

Academic entry requirements:

3 year degree in an area relevant to Master’s degree or equivalent.

Each applicant will be considered individually and assessed on their ability to succeed at this level.

Minimum age requirement:

All students must be a minimum of 17 years of age prior to the start of the course.

Tuition fees:

£12,500 (1 term) or £14,000 (2 terms) for the Pre-Master’s Programme – tuition fees for the subsequent years of study will be charged at London Metropolitan University’s standard international tuition fee rate for the relevant programme and year of entry.

Additional costs:

Please note, in addition to the tuition fee there may be additional costs for things such as equipment, materials, printing, textbooks, trips or professional body fees.

Additionally, there may be other activities that are not formally part of your course and not required to complete your course, but which you may find helpful (for example, optional field trips). The costs of these are additional to your tuition fee and the fees set out above and will be notified when the activity is being arranged.
